Hands down the best fried breaded okra. The fish was delicious and was perfectly cooked. The collard greens were seasoned to perfection. I felt like I went to a family reunion where everyone brought their best to the table. Thank you for this delicious food and amazing atmosphere.

I grew up poor in Texas. That being said, food was a necessity not a luxury. This place, my goodness, was spot on with the serving size and flavor of their dishes. The staff, Gerald in the front and D doing the magic in the kitchen both showed me that they enjoy what they provide. To me, nothing prompts nostalgia like the food you grew up on. Everything was completely on point! Loved the place and it is definitely going to be a weekly stop for me and my woman. Amazing food at an amazing price!
We stopped through for a hot meal while passing through the area. The food was delicious, but the service was even better. The staff was friendly and extremely welcoming. Our experience felt like we were eating at someone's kitchen table.
Walked into the restaurant and was greeted by the owner. Fun and friendly. Food was amazing. Tried the Big Daddy’s Fried Chicken. Promise you will not be disappointed. Good seasoning and fried to perfection. Juicy but not greasy. We will be back next time we are in Ocala.
Lord have mercy I think I just died and had lunch in heaven absolutely THE BEST food I’ve eaten at ANY restaurant here in Florida MADE FROM SCRATCH PIES ,CAKES this will be our go to spot the prices are more than fair German chocolate cake peach pie oxtails Mac and cheese no exaggeration AWARD winning and the service was the icing on the cake pretty lil waitresses with the friendly atmosphere and to the Queen who greeted me at entrance and who owns it as she cooks and bakes my gratitude to you for sharing your amazing food !!! If you haven’t tried this place you’re most definitely missing the best Florida has to offer! The best soul food hubby wolfed the rest before I got those pictures
I found this place on Google with 4.8 stars. We were just driving through and were looking for somewhere that serves both breakfast and lunch. We were sat immediately in a booth. Unfortunately the seat had a big tear which was very uncomfortable in shorts - my husband went and got a shirt out of the car for me to sit on. We had 5 minutes to snag breakfast for our daughter and the rest of us waited to order so she could get her pancakes. Just pancakes. She finished eating before the rest of us got our food but that didnt bother us as she was happy and no longer complaining she was hungry. Ha! Our son got a burger with onion rings but ate before I could snag a photo - he said it was good. My husband and I got the same meal - smothered chicken, candied sweet potatoes, collards greens, mashed potatoes with gravy. Oh my goodness. One of my biggest pet peeves is a restaurant that serves collards but doesnt know how to serve them. Not this place -- so so so good! So much food. So much flavor. I had a food baby upon leaving. Ha!! Our server was so kind and respectful also. She was very attentive and offered great recommendations. And the bill was ridiculous. And I mean that in the best way -- cant get a meal like that in NY for that low of a cost. Wow. We would definitely recommend this hole in the wall restaurant if you like southern style foods!!
My wife and I went to this restaurant today for the first time. The owner and the staff were the most friendly people that you could ever want to find. The service couldn't have been any better, and even the owner stopped by to ensure everything was great. "C'mon now" the food was excellent too!! I had the "Big Man's Fried Chicken", with mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans. The flavors were perfect, and IMO, couldn't have tasted better. My wife had the Fried Chicken Sandwich, and told me it was better than any of the other restaurants we've been to. Big Man's Cafe will now become one of our regular stops for eating out in the future. See y'all soon!
